While many folks have trouble functioning without their daily morning cup of joe, iced coffee is often relegated to an occasional treat. Perfect for a hot afternoon, an iced coffee provides the perfect pick-me-up to make it through the day. San Francisco coffee shops offer a number of tempting brews, including everything from multi-day cold brewed iced coffee to a mint and milk-infused mojito iced coffee. Here are five of the best places in the city to nab a quality iced coffee.

One of San Francisco’s best kept secrets, CoffeeShop is a sweet little spot to grab a cup of quality coffee. The place sources all beans from Emeryville’s Ubuntu Coffee Cooperative, a worker-owned roaster. In addition to delicious hot coffee drinks, CoffeeShop’s menu includes some cold refreshments. Customers rave about the iced coffee, which is painstakingly brewed for three days and then served undiluted with coffee ice cubes.

Sightglass Coffee

At SoMa’s Sightglass Coffee, beans are roasted in-house in a vintage Probat roaster. This family-owned business takes pride in direct sourced, small batch coffees to produce high-quality refreshments. Iced options range from cold brewed iced coffee and iced lattes to the spice and vanilla infused brews. Pair a cold beverage with one of an assortment of tasty fresh pastries, and then snag a bag of beans to take the Sightglass experience home.
