The beaches in Brazil are filled with tourists looking for relaxation and a good party. Many parties are held right on the beach and at many local restaurants that are nestled right up on the sand. At many of these beaches, you will have everything fun in the sun themed right at your fingertips, including surfing, sunbathing, splashing in the water, boating and other water sports. With more than 4,650 miles of tropical coastline, you are sure to find a beach that is perfect for your upcoming vacation to Brazil.

Praia dos Carneiros

Praia dos Carneiros is located in a small beach town with miles of shoreline and nearby wetlands that are perfect for exploring. The beach is located off a dirt road and tucked behind a grove of palms. You will feel like you have stepped into a tropical scene on many postcards. This beach offers a lagoon-style bay that is perfect for swimming. You are going to feel so relaxed from the moment you step into the bathtub-warm water. If you are looking for a quiet beach to enjoy in Brazil, this is the one.


You will be able to kick back and enjoy 700 miles of coastline when visiting Carava in the state of Bahia. This state may be filled with small sleepy fishing villages, but it does have some spectacular beaches. Carava offers 30 miles of hidden beauty and is one of the best know beach sites in Bahia. If you do plan to visit this beach, make sure you take a tour of the area on mule back. Or, you can just simply relax and grab a beverage from one of the stocked mules that will make their rounds to visitors on the beach. This is definitely the place to visit if you are looking for “lost in time” experience and a chance to escape your day-to-day life back home.

Ipanema Beach
Rio de Janeiro

This is a popular beach for first-time travelers to the country and though it may get crowded, you are going to love the scenery along the sands. Neighbored by Arpoador Beach and Leblon Beach, Ipanema Beach is the epicenter for this area of Rio de Janeiro. It is one of the wealthiest areas of the country and is considered the “Little Paris” if Rio. While visiting this beach you can enjoy everything sand and sun related, plus there are many things to see and do within a short walk from the water. You will find galleries, museums, restaurants and shops scattered throughout the area, which are perfect for when you need a break from all the fun you will be having at the beach.

Praia da Pipa
Rio Grande do Norte

Praia da Pipa was a small backwater fishing village up until the 1970s, when backpackers discovered the beauty and benefits this small town offered travelers. This beach is a favorite weekend getaway spot for locals in nearby large cities and travelers looking to escape. In fact, many international visitors have fallen in love with this beach and the small village that they never left and have stayed to enjoy the beauty of Praia da Pipa. You will fall in love too, especially once you see the breathtaking natural setting, featuring steep pink cliffs that rise high above the sand. While there, you will be able to enjoy everything from sunbathing to surfing and dolphin-watching to sand-boarding. There is definitely plenty to do here. Plus you will see the remains of the Great Atlantic Forest that had once covered the coast.

There are many reasons why the Copacabana is one of the best beaches in Brazil. It can be because of the beautiful shape, or the breathtaking views. It might even be the fact that the fun does not end once the sun goes down at this beach. You will be able to enjoy everything from sunbathing to surfing and people watching to parties at night when visiting the Copacabana in Rio de Janeiro. This is definitely one of the beaches you will want to visit if you are looking for some fun, excitement and lots of parties. Along the Copacabana beach, you will find several beach bars and clubs.
