(KBCW) – In the first season of Supergirl, we only seen Kara’s cousin, Superman/Clark Kent as a blur, a red & blue streak, a pair of red boots and communicated to Kara (Melissa Benoist) through text messages. When season two arrives on KBCW 44 Cable 12/The CW, we FINALLY have a face to the new Man of Steel!

After searching for an actor to play the legendary role, The Hollywood Reporter is reporting “Teen Wolf” star Tyler Hoechlin will take to the cape as Superman. From Christopher Reeve to the current on-screen star, Henry Cavill, Hoechlin joins the ranks of actors who played the iconic character. Hoechlin’s other credits include Road to Perdition, 7th Heaven, Hall Pass and recently in Richard Linklater’s Everybody Wants Some. He will also star in the upcoming “Fifty Shades…” series of films as Boyce Fox.

Producers Andrew Kreisberg and Greg Berlanti has expressed their enthsiasm for the next Superman actor and had this to say about the new casting:

“Greg (Berlanti) and I have wanted to work with Tyler for ages, so this worked out perfectly because Tyler is Superman,” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said. “We are so thrilled and humbled to add another amazing actor to the legacy of this iconic character.”

Season two of Supergirl debuts Mondays at 8:00pm on The CW this Fall.
