LOS ANGELES, CA (CBS SF) – Horror film legend Wes Craven has passed away. The 76 year-old filmmaker died in his Los Angeles home on Sunday after battling brain cancer.
Craven is best known for his contribution in the horror film genre. In the mid 1980’s he created the character of Freddy Krueger in the first Nightmare on Elm Street film series. Craven also made a “killing” in the 1990’s with Scream and it’s sequels.
He is survived by his wife Iya.
