(CBS NEWS) – Actor Lee Thompson Young has died. He was 29. Police discovered Young’s body inside his Los Angeles home early Monday morning, reports ETonline.

A dispatch had initially been sent to Young’s house on a welfare check after he failed to show up for work on the set of

“Rizzoli & Isles.” Young had played Detective Barry Frost on series since 2010.

Authorities discovered Young’s body soon after upon entering the home and he was pronounced dead on the scene. It is believed he died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Police confirmed Young’s death to Entertainment Tonight.

The actor was probably best known for his starring role as Jett Jackson on “The Famous Jett Jackson,” which originally aired from 1998-2001 and on the CW series “Smallville” where in the fifth season, Thompson played Victor Stone aka Cyborg in 2006.
