(CBS NEWS) – Jennifer Lawrence is looking very blue in her latest role.

Director Bryan Singer delighted fanboys around the world on Monday by releasing an image of the 24-year-old “Silver Linings Playbook” Oscar-winner donning her Mystique costume for the upcoming “X-Men: Days of Future Past.”

Singer posted the image of Lawrence on his Twitter account:

The shapeshifter Mystique was originally played by Rebecca Romijn in the first “X-Men” trilogy before Lawrence took over the role for 2010’s “X-Men: First Class.”

It took close to six hours to get Lawrence into the blue-tinged costume and make-up for “First Class.” We hope for her sake that the filmmakers have found a way to streamline the process for this shoot.

“X-Men: Days of Future Past” will serve as a mash-up sequel combining actors and characters from the first “X-Men” trilogy with those from “First Class.”

Now shooting in Montreal, the film hits theaters July 18, 2014.
