Copenhagen Bakery, a traditional family business, has been around since 1977 surviving through hard work and dedication to its craft. Owners Ralf Nielsen and wife Shari moved to Denmark in the early 1970s, following in the footsteps of Ralf’s Danish ancestors who were bakers, to learn the traditional bakery trade. Returning in 1977, Ralf and Shari, along with Ralf’s brother Ben, opened a small shop that included a bakery and began to show their baking talents. In 1983, they were able to expand the shop and a larger Copenhagen Bakery and Café came to life. Since then, Copenhagen has become a popular spot in Burlingame, and a well known name throughout the Bay Area. Cherry lovers will be happy to find a wide selection of cherry treats here, including pie, danish, strudel, hamentashen and wreaths.
