Another clear winner and fan pleaser is Bumzy’s organic vanilla ice cream. Glad you asked because Arizmendi, a worker-owned cooperative, has a sinfully, chocolately version ($2.00) which is one of the too-many-to-list reasons this terrific bakery is a destination spot. At least once in your life you must try the chocolate-cherry sourdough loaf ($4.25), available Sundays only according to the bakery’s website bread schedule. Large chunks of chocolate baked with plenty of moist, tart cherry pieces make for a sweet, dessert-like loaf. More chocolate chips appear in the kookie brittle and dark sunshine cookies too.
