Bud Vogel (James Cromwell) has never talked about his experiences in WWII – until his grandson Kyle (Jackson Bond) discovers the footlocker Bud used in the war. Bud tells Kyle can pick any three souvenirs, and Bud will tell him the stories behind each one. The mementos tell the story of Bud’s complicated wartime past, and the future that awaits the grown-up Kyle (Jonathan Bennett), as well. The movie was directed by Adrian Vitoria

(KBCW/CBS NEWS) – Ellen Page has some Pryde about her role in “X-Men: Days of Future Past.”

The 26-year-old actress is currently filming scenes for the upcoming superhero sequel in Montreal, Canada. Earlier this month, director Bryan Singer tweeted a photo of Page in costume on the set of the new film:

Page will reprise her role as one of the younger members of the X-Men — Kitty Pryde, a.k.a. Shadowcat. Pryde has the ability to walk through solid objects from her powers as a mutant.

A lot has changed for Page since she last portrayed Pryde in 2006′s “X-Men: The Last Stand.” Following her breakthrough Oscar-nominated role in “Juno,” the Canadian-born actress has gone on to star in films like “Inception” and Woody Allen’s “To Rome with Love.” She’s also starring in a new film about eco-terrorism, “The East,” co-starring Alexander Skarsgard and Brit Marling.

Even though she’s been tackling heavier subject matter, Page was happy to return to the superhero franchise.

“I couldn’t be more fortunate to be back for another one,” Page said in an interview for CBSNews.com at “The East” N.Y. premiere. “It’s been great. Bryan Singer is fantastic. The cast is incredible.”

“X-Men: Days of Future Past” will combine actors and characters from “The Last Stand” and 2010′s “X-Men: First Class” for a whole new adventure. The film opens on July 18, 2014.

Aside from filming the new “X-Men” movie, Page is also busy working on her directorial debut, “Miss Stevens,” with Anna Farris attached to star.

Fast & Furious 6 has our clan of racers living the dream and leaving their lives of crime in the rear view mirror after the heist in Brazil. That is until Agent Hobbs(Dwayne Johnson) approaches them with an offer. Help Hobbs and company hunt down Owen Shaw(Luke Evans) and they will be given their freedom. If that wasn’t tempting enough, Toretto also finds out that his deceased lover Letty(Michelle Rodriguez) is back from the dead and helping the criminal organization. The gang teams with Hobbs to take down Shaw and his criminal network.

Resurrections and criminal masterminds that specialize in vehicular warfare? Sounds dumb and you would be right. But it’s also a whole lot of dumb fun as well. Fast & Furious 6 never tries to be Shakespeare. After six movies the filmmakers know what they are and play right into it. The car chases are top-notch including the chase between Toretto’s crew and Shaw’s metal formula one style race car that looks like it drove off the set of Mad Max. There are also tanks and airplanes that get involved in the action in Fast & Furious 6. The script is bad, but the action is strong which is exactly what you would expect from a F & F film. I doubt anybody is showing up to hear the riveting dialogue between Walker and Diesel.

Fast & Furious 6 is ridiculous at times, but you can’t deny the franchise’s popcorn charm. The film leaves you entertained even if the plot is weak as a Ford Festiva racing against Dom’s Dodge Charger. I’m not a huge fan of this franchise and I never understood why they made a part 2 in the first place. But I did find myself letting go and enjoying the big mindless action of Fast & Furious 6. Actors like the Dwayne Johnson have helped breathe new life into the franchise and for the first time I’m actually intrigued by the next installment on the way. Make sure you stick around until the end for the tease. Overall I give Fast & Furious 6 2 1/2 potatoes out of 4, but I do expect fans of the franchise to have an even higher opinion than mine.

Lavigne told MTV that Manson helped bring her out her naughty side on the song “Bad Girl, ” which will be on her untitled album, due out this September. At the last minute while recording the track Lavigne texted Manson, who she’s known since she was 18 years old, and just asked if he’d be willing to come by.

“He’s like, ‘I’ll come over and I’ll hear it,’” she explained. “So he came at 4 o’clock in the morning… Yes, it was one of those nights.”

(KBCW/CBS NEWS) – Paris Hilton is venturing into the music industry once again. The hotel heiress is currently working on her sophomore album, the follow-up to 2006′s “Paris.”

Showbiz 411 recently caught up with the reality TV star, who said she has inked a deal with Cash Money Records for an album, expected out this summer. She plans to team with producer Afrojack, as well as hip-hop acts, including Lil Wayne.

“This is a lot different than my first album. It’s really going to be house music,” Hilton, 32, said.

Afrojack told Billboard, “She’s been going out to raves for 15 years she told me — ever since she was a little kid — and she loves dance music, so I gave her some dance tracks.”

Hilton’s debut album, released on Warner Bros., featured the single “Stars are Blind” and peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard chart.

Hilton’s other business are apparently doing well. “I’m getting ready to launch my 17th perfume,” she said. “And I’m also starting the Paris Hilton Foundation for children’s causes.” Hilton said she’s doing “great,” noting, “I just want to have the best life possible.”

(KBCW/CBS NEWS) – Eva Longoria is no stranger to wearing gowns on the red carpet, but her latest ensemble was of the cap-and-gown variety.

The former “Housewives” star revealed on Twitter that she has graduated with a master’s degree in Chicano studies from California State University, Northridge.

“You’re never too old or too busy to continue your education!” she tweeted, sharing photos of her posing with family, fellow graduates and holding her diploma.

(KBCW/CBS NEWS) – The first trailer for “We’re the Millers,” starring Jason Sudeikis as a small-time drug dealer and Jennifer Aniston as a stripper, has arrived online.

In the film, Sudeikis’ character needs to smuggle a large shipment of marijuana into the United States from Mexico. To make it over the border without arising suspicion, he hires a phony family to travel with him in an RV across the border.

Aniston is the stripper who poses as his wife, while a homeless teen (Emma Roberts) and a dorky neighbor (Will Poulter) pretend to be his kids. Complications and family vacation antics ensue.

Ed Helms also stars in the film, as well as Nick Offerman and Kathryn Hahn.

“We’re the Millers” will arrive in theaters on Aug. 9.
