NEW YORK, NY (CBS) – Joan Rivers, comedian and TV show host, passed today at the age of 81.
Rivers had been on life support last Thursday in New York City after undergoing a throat procedure.
In a statement to the press, daughter Melissa said, “My mother’s greatest joy in life was to make people laugh. Although that is difficult to do right now, I know her final wish would be that we return to laughing soon.”
The CW stars paid their respects to the comedienne via social media:
RIP Joan Rivers...consistently brilliant and unapologetically herself. A trailblazer for smart, funny women. God Bless.—
