On Friday, the San Jose Fire Department will hold a groundbreaking ceremony at 3 p.m. for its new fire station on White Road. The firehouse, which will be known as Station No. 21, is set to open next December.
Can you believe San Francisco launched its bike share program one year ago? To celebrate, the program is offering $5 day passes, instead of $9. Also, free burritos will be offered at Bay Area bike share stations.
Also, Northbound Interstate 280 in San Francisco from Highway 101 to Downtown will remain closed through Tuesday morning. People planning to go to this weekend’s Giants games should plan an alternate route.
Speaking of alternate routes, drivers should avoid Justin Herman Plaza around 6 p.m. as the monthly Critical Mass bike ride begins.
Flying out of SFO this Labor Day weekend? A rideshare company called Summon is offering to take people from San Francisco to the airport for $23. Rides can be booked ahead of time.
