Summer may already be well under way but it’s still a perfect time to pick up all the essential items to create the season’s most fashionable looks. There are plenty of mid-summer sales going on currently that are making it even easier to shop for those must-have items at low prices. Check out this list of suggested summer items that are guaranteed to keep a fashionista stylish at a moment’s notice this season.
1) Go-to pair of sandals
What would summer be without sandals? Whether they are a simple pair of wedges or sassy stiletto, you can’t go wrong with sandals. It’s a good idea to pick a pair that can be worn after work and on casual days at work to ensure versatility.
2) Floral or graphic print sundress
A sundress is always in for the summer season. Graphic prints and florals offer a unique style and plenty of color for the bright season. Sundresses are also ideal for any occasion. It’s easy to style for a day at the beach or a late weekend brunch with friends. Print dresses are also very feminine and easy to accessorize for a head to toe look.
3) Cropped top
Cropped tops are trending in a major way and a great way to show off as little or as much of the physique for summer. Cropped tops pair perfectly with many items that are most likely already in a woman’s closet. For instance, to create a simple yet unique casual look, style a brightly-colored or white cropped top with a print long skirt or print pants. Add wedges or flat sandals to complete the look. The options that cropped tops offer are endless and effortless.
Embrace the warm weather with a trendy pair of shorts to slip into. There are so many styles to choose from and they look great with cropped tops, tanks, and simple t-shirts. Don’t be afraid to experiment with different fabrics such as lace and linen as well. Consider style, as well. High-waist shorts offer more modesty and coverage than the standard cuff shorts therefore it’s a good idea to have a pair of both styles to suit any preference.
Rompers can be dressed up or down to offer whatever look a fashionista is going for. They also come in several colors and prints like dresses but have the carefree attitude and cut of shorts. It’s the perfect compromise of summer style and fun.
Most of these items might already be waiting in the closet. However, in case a minor shopping trip or two is needed, there are several local stores and boutiques that offer everything a fashionista needs this summer. Pitaya in Royal Oak and Pink Pump in Birmingham are some ideal places to shop for each of these items.
Remember, summer style should be light, colorful, and carefree. Consider this list of clothing and accessories to create stylish look that will make it fun and easy to put together an ensemble all summer long.
And of course, we have to add, in the Bay Area, don’t forget your sweater. A simple white cardigan tossed into your bag matches just about everything. From drizzle in the morning to 100 degrees inland, you’ll be ready.
