SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) – With a new season arriving Tuesday for the San Francisco Giants’ so does the arrival of guest amenities at AT&T Park, just in time for the home opener.
For their 57th season in San Francisco and their 15th season at AT&T Park, the Giants take on the Arizona Diamondbacks on April 8 and they take on a new mantra “All Together, Stronger Together.” Team officials also revealed new food offerings, ballpark upgrades and a new smartphone app, all to enhance the fan experience at AT&T Park.
“We look forward to welcoming all of our fans back to AT&T Park – including our 30,000 season ticket members. The energy, commitment and excitement that our fans bring to the ballpark each and every day is what makes AT&T Park one of the best experiences in all of baseball, said Larry Baer, Giants president and chief executive officer. “Opening Day will mark our 247th consecutive sellout and we are excited to welcome the fans back to the ballpark to discover and experience many of the new amenities and upgrades we’ve been hard at work on during the off season.”
The Giants’ premium food & beverage partner, Bon Appetit Management, is completing its first-of-its-kind organic garden located below the main scoreboard in Centerfield. The Garden will prove the park’s sustainability and wellness through producing a diverse and edible bounty of foods. A sod farm will allow fans to view the game through “knotholes” in the Centerfield wall. The Garden will also educate Bay Area children learning about urban farming, healthy eating and sustainability.
The Gotham Club
Paying tribute to the original name of the Giants, “The New York Gothams,” The Gotham Club brings back the speakeasy era and provides a “members-only” experience at AT&T Park. Access to club members includes The Game Room, The Bullpen and the Clubhouse, which opens in late spring.
AT&T Park unveiled three new premium seating areas, with unparalleled views and wide open party space with ample tabletop seating. Located in the Fan Lot, “The Dockers Deck” sits just in front of the giant glove. “The Press Club” accommodates thirty people and is adjacent to the working press box. However, fans are not allowed inside the press box. While the Candlestick Suite, next to the The Press Club, pay homage to Giants’ previous home, Candlestick Park. Its décor will be reminiscent to that of the legendary one-time home of the San Francisco Giants and 49ers.
iBeacons and “At the Ballpark” App
iBeacon technology allows for the team to communicate specific information to the fans via an Apple iOS7 device. Along with the new “At the Ballpark” app, fans will be able to check-in to the park to receive exclusive offers, navigate through the concessions and so much more ways to personalize their baseball park experience.
Plus, the San Francisco Giants has put together more specialty events with the purchase of a game ticket. Highlights include Metallica Night, Hello Kitty Day, Pixar Day at the Park and the First Annual Giants Sports Antique Show.
