Jana Kramer, of One Tree Hill fame, announced she is engaged to country singer, and fellow best new artist nominee at the ACM awards, Brantley Gilbert.

Gilbert proposed to Kramer on his 28th birthday at the Ryman Auditorium Theater in Nashville. The couple, who has been dating a year, told People in a statement, “We could not be happier! We are so excited to share this special time with our loved ones and cannot wait to start the rest of our lives together.”

Gilbert seems to be a true southern gentleman, even asking Jana’s mom’s permission before popping the question.

This will be Kramer’s second marriage and Gilbert’s first time walking down the aisle.
